Diagnoses
Caregiving for an 83-year-old senior (75 kg, 185 cm) who suffers from paralysis, has a catheter due to a non-functional bladder, and whose mobility is significantly limited due to an oncological condition. The senior is undergoing active cancer treatment and takes prescribed medications, requiring supervision to ensure correct usage. Cognitively, the senior is appropriate for his age, but has impaired hearing. He uses a wheelchair for mobility; he can transfer independently, but may need assistance depending on his daily condition. Assistance is needed with daily activities such as dressing and undressing, personal hygiene, body care, and toilet assistance. The bathroom is located on the upper floor, and a stair lift is currently being installed. Until its completion, hygiene will be performed on the ground floor. The role also includes accompanying the senior on walks with the wheelchair and providing companionship during the day. Meal preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and laundry care are required. Shopping can be done on foot, by bus, or by car; a vehicle with a manual transmission is available. Support in daily life, assistance with all necessary tasks, and ensuring the smooth running of the household are expected. Night care is not required. The senior lives alone in a family house with an area of 100 m² in the town of 89275 Elchingen. Accommodation is provided in a furnished guest room of 15 m², with a shared bathroom and internet access. There is also a separate apartment unit in the basement with its own bathroom, which still needs renovation. Two half-days off per week are available.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
