Diagnoses
Caregiving for an 85-year-old man in Esslingen (single-person household, family house, Pflegegrad 3, 170 cm/68 kg). He suffers from dementia/Alzheimer's — recognizes close persons depending on the day, oriented in his home environment, retains time orientation, but cannot coordinate appointments (they are recorded in a calendar). Lacks short-term memory, often repeats the same questions, and has word-finding difficulties. Does not have a tendency to wander. Speech is clear, with good hearing and vision. Mentally open, friendly; may express dissatisfaction loudly in stressful situations, but calms down quickly when given space. Moves around the house with a walker (walking does not need to be accompanied), some days even without it. There is a stair lift in the house. Needs an arm to help when getting up and can cooperate. Night care is not required, and he does not have urinary or fecal incontinence. Manages dressing and personal hygiene with partial assistance (shaving and brushing teeth independently), showering is handled by a caregiving service 2× weekly. Manages toilet use and food intake independently (ensure fluid intake). The caregiver must not prepare medications, only ensure their intake. Medical appointments and leisure activities are handled by the family; the caregiver takes over errands, daily structure, companionship, meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, and laundry. The senior smokes — there is a separate smoking room in the house. The caregiver has her own apartment (bedroom, living room, separate entrance, terrace, kitchen with seating area, bathroom, WC, internet), free time by agreement. Requirements: female, good German, active driver (automatic car), smoking only outside the apartment, experience with a higher standard of household and appropriate demeanor. Start in 3–5 days, as soon as possible.

You don't pay our employment agency anything at all. We believe it is not right to charge people money in order to enable them to work, and so we offer assistance in finding job positions completely free of charge.
Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
